The market in Zaandam city centre
Every Thursday and Saturday, Zaandam's city centre is full of stalls selling everything: fresh vegetables, beautiful flowers, artisan cheese, nuts, fish, and goodies for the road.
The atmosphere is friendly and typically Zaans. Having a chat with the market people, getting a fresh treacle waffle or just browsing among the stalls - it's an outing in itself.
