Jisper Kerk

The church dates back to 1822 and replaced a much larger, late medieval predecessor.

Characteristic features of the church are the wooden barrel vault and the interior consisting of richly crafted wooden furniture from the second half of the 17th century. Examples of the latter include a pulpit with arched panels and a baptismal railing with allegorical reliefs, lectern and baptismal arches.
The floor consists of more than a hundred tombstones, most bearing beautiful

Since 2006, the church has been owned by the Stichting Oude Hollandse Kerken(SOHK). However, direct responsibility for management and maintenance lies with the Local Committee.
Especially the latter, maintenance, is an essential factor in preserving the monument.
This highlights the need for exploitation of the church, aimed at generating income. To this end, the church was made suitable for multifunctional use through internal renovation in 2009 and the Friends of the Jisperkerk Foundation was established. This foundation organises cultural activities and raises donors to preserve the Jisperkerk (see Friends of the Jisperkerk Foundation).

Nowadays, concerts, meetings, lectures, weddings and other activities take place in addition to church services.
Famous are the well-attended candlelight concerts.

So, are you looking for a special location for your wedding, reception, anniversary celebration, promotional dinner, party or other event? This SOHK church building has a surprising amount to offer!
