Garage Davidzon
In Westzaan stands a special monument that takes you straight back to the early days of Dutch car and motorbike culture. It is a garage and accompanying company house from 1933, which served as a Ford sub-dealer for many years and also housed one of the first Shell pumping stations in the Netherlands.
What makes this building so unique? It is completely preserved in its original state - as if time had stood still there. Whereas elsewhere in the country this kind of early garage has almost disappeared, here you can still feel the atmosphere of the pioneering years of the automobile.
