Within walking distance are several restaurants, shops and the train station. In 17 minutes, you can be in the centre of Amsterdam by train. Bicycles can be rented to explore the surroundings. Cycle to the Zaanse Schans in ten minutes. Or follow one of the many cycling routes in the area. A visit to the cheese markets in Alkmaar and Edam is definitely worthwhile!
