Stolpboerderij
In Wormerland, the road ditch plays an important role as an axis of reclamation. Along this waterway, the ribbon villages of Jisp and Wormer developed, whose ribbon development consisted mainly of farms. Characteristic of low North Holland are the stolp farmhouses. These square farms with pyramid-shaped roofs developed from the sixteenth century onwards. The spacious roof of the stolpboerderij provided space for the farming family, livestock, hay, wagons and other implements. A beautiful example of this is the listed stolpboerderij at Oosteinde 24 in Wormer.
