Veenweidepark De Trickel near De Poelboerderij in Wormer is like the Wormer and Jisperveld in miniature. You can stroll around at your leisure and study various bird species from the bird-watching hut.

Darwinpark

Darwinpark is an important green space in Zaandam. You can walk, cycle and be active at the skate park. The four themed gardens invite you to feast your eyes.

Hembrug site

Not immediately obvious as a green spot, but despite the buildings, you cannot ignore the greenery at the Hembrug site. Nature had free rein for a long time and that is still clearly visible.

In recreation area Het Twiske near Oostzaan, you can enjoy a varied landscape. Get a breath of fresh air along the reed banks and marshes and explore the meadows, where you might spot Scottish Highlanders or foxes.

In the Guisveld, you can indulge your senses. Enjoy wide views and the diversity of meadow birds and plant species, some of which are rare. The Forestry Commission has set out two walking routes there.
