Mill route east

Description

From the Zaanstore pick-up point, head towards the shopping street. Cycle right onto Smidspad and then left onto the short Rozengracht. This turns into Rustenburg.

Turn right into Stationsstraat and turn left at the end onto Westzijde. Pinkstraat turns into Zuideinde and Raadhuisstraat.

Before the viaduct under the A8, turn left into Verzetstraat and straight under the viaduct into Pinkstraat, mill Het Pink. This becomes Museumlaan

Turn right into Zwarte Bonsemstraat and right again into Stationsstraat. At the end, turn left onto Lagedijk (mill De Bleeke Dood on the right).

Cycle immediately after the traffic lights right over the bridge at the bottom, turn left towards the Zaanse Zaanse Schans. Follow the cycle path along the windmills. Cycle along this path until you reach the Engewormer Ringdijk.

At the T-junction with the dike, turn left and go straight ahead at junction 94 up the old dike. (To visit the mill de Koker, turn left across the small bridge onto Kerkepad and at the end of this path turn right onto Dorpsstraat. After the small bridge at Herenlaan, turn right onto the path towards the mill).

Keep right before the drawbridge over the Ringvaart canal. Turn left onto the cycle path (Ringdijk) where the dike bends to the right. View of windmill Herkules on the right .

At the end of the cycle path, turn left and immediately right towards Zuiderweg and junction 50.

After the viaduct, turn right onto the cycle path and keep right. After the cycle viaduct over the railway, make a U-turn to the left to junction12. Follow the signs towards the Twiske. At the end of the cycle path, the route continues along the Stationsstraat. Cross the Haal and cycle into the Twiske.

Over the small bridge in Het Twiske, turn right and then left towards junction 17. After Paviljoen Twiske , turn right towards the lane. On the lane, turn left and then right onto the cycle path towards Twiskeweg. After the sports fields, turn left at the ANWB road sign and follow the cycle path along the Ringvaart (view of Biksteenmolen De Vlijt from here).

Under the viaduct, take the first left towards Pikpotweg at mushroom 25204. Then turn left exit of the Twiske.

Turn right at the traffic lights into the centre of Oostzaan (Zuideinde). At Kerkbuurt, follow the signs for Zaanstad and turn left into Kerkstraat. At the roundabout at the end of the street, follow through traffic junction 70.

Cycle left into Clusiusstraat, go through the park and keep following the cycle path richitng node 70 on the Weer.

Turn left onto Blooksven and immediately right into Dominee Martin Luther Kingweg. Turn left across the bridge to Walraven van Hallstraat.

Turn right into Kepplerstraat. At the traffic lights, turn left into Peperstraat and after the bridge, turn right into Westzijde.

Cycle the 4th left into Stationsstraat and turn right onto Rustenburg which turns into the short Rozengracht. On your right, you'll find the Smidspad that takes you back to the Zaanstore.
