The most varied walk of all ten with both wide views and heritage. With the Zaan as the bouncer. The Wormer and Jisperveld is the largest interconnected peat meadow area in Western Europe. It consists of hundreds of meadows fringed by rustling reeds and narrow ditches. This vast nature reserve is teeming with birds. To avoid disturbing them, only whisper boats are allowed into the area. Yet there is plenty to see and hear from the edge of De Poel. After this first part, you walk along the Dorpsstraat of the old ribbon village of Wormer, after which the route takes you past an ice rink to the dike of the Enge Wormer, where you can clearly see how low some Zaankanters live! In 1638, the former lake was drained, which is now on the left from the dike. The hamlet of Bartelsluis officially belongs to Wormer. Via the unusual town hall, you walk to the Zaan with its old industrial wall and modern businesses, eventually returning to the starting point.
