Raadhuis - Westzaan

Against the rear (west) side of the recently (1989) restored house a wooden rear house under a grey tile-covered gable roof (formerly stable and coach house), which is a reconstruction of the older practically entirely vanished original rear house. Front (east) facade of the house, which served as an inn in the 18th and 19th centuries, on the right at cellar level three rectangular windows with thief-irons. On the left at ground-floor level is the two-window entrance, consisting of a wooden single-leaf swing door with fanlight preceded by a two-step stone landing, with carved, juxtaposed oval shapes. On either side are pilasters. The entrance is closed by a cornice. Three 9-pane sash windows to the right of the entrance. Upstairs, five windows with 9-pane sash windows. The front façade is crowned across its entire width by a wooden cove, whose profiled mouldings are supported at the top left and right by a pair of Louis XV-style gutter stops. Centrally located in the cove a wooden hatch with arched lintel. South facade: at ground level, two sash windows with 8-pane divisions on the right side and three sash windows with 8-pane divisions on the left; on the first floor, the right side is divided into a blind niche and a sash window with 4-pane divisions, centrally located at the transition between the front and rear of the house a round framed window and on the left side three sash windows with 4-pane divisions. North façade: at ground level, two 9-pane sash windows on the left and two 12-pane sash windows on the right; on the first floor, two 9-pane sash windows on the left, a round framed window in the middle of the transition between the front and rear houses, and two 6-pane windows on the right. The facade is coated with plaster throughout, with block motif. Both north and south facades have a wooden attic with panels and baluster bars.
